- TEACHING AND LEARNING CENTER (TLC) AND ELEARNING UNIT OF THE OFFICE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (OIT) FACULTY MOODLE TRAINING WORKSHOP – OCTOBER 2020
During the period from Tuesday, October 13 to Wednesday, October 14, 2020, starting at 10:00 am and ending at 3:00 pm, the Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) with assistance from the eLearning Unit of the Office of Information Technology (OIT) held a two day Moodle online Management workshop for our UL Moodle classroom instructors. The objective of this workshop was to reach out to all UL Faculty members who are actively engaged in our first ever UL Moodle online eLearning experience with helpful hints, instructional suggestions and strategies for making their Moodle eLearning classroom experiences a more successful endeavor. The first day workshop was held on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at the Capital Hill campus and the second day workshop was held on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at the Fendall campus.
We had a core group of UL Faculty members who are successfully conducting their Moodle eLearning classes share with our other Faculty members, in brief 10-minute presentations, an overview of their Moodle classes and how they have managed their students and the activities of their Moodle online classes throughout this semester. The faculty members who shared their Moodle experiences included: Professor James Zawolo, Mining Engineering Department, Ms. Cecelia Wilson, English Department and Professor J. Mac-Nixon Flomo, Sociology Department.
Following these presentations, the faculty members interacted with our TLC/eLearning Unit facilitators for more instructor-specific Moodle guidance and problem-solving instructional suggestions. Members of this team included the eLearning Unit Director Mr. Q. Randalson Saye, TLC Contractor workers Mr. Christian Weah, Mr. Foeday Zinnah and Mr. Dennis Nimely.
Faculty members were provided with some light refreshments as appreciation for their time and energy. The Capital Hill Campus workshop began at 10:00 am and ended at 3:00 pm. The Fendall Campus workshop began at 10:00 am and ended at 3:00 pm.
There were 7 faculty members present at the workshop on the Capital Hill campus and 15 Faculty members present at the Fendall campus workshop. A complete breakdown of the faculty members present included:

General Studies College = 3 members
Health Sciences College = 2 members
Science College & College of Engineering & College of Business = 1 member
