FREE OPEN SOURCE TEXTBOOKS FOR YOUR CLASSES

It would be so nice if the UL College Department Chairpersons took charge of the online learning that will go on in their individual departments from the get-go of our Online Teaching and Learning initiate with Moodle.

Here is a good PLAN OF ACTION:

  1. All classes with multiple sections should use the same online textbook.  The Chairperson should be in the forefront of the decision-making process that determines which textbook is to be used.  This task will be made simple by the fact that we have multiple sources that contain thousands of FREE online textbooks to choose from for the various topics of our class syllabi.  The Chairperson should work in partnership with the various instructors to select the single online textbook that will be used to teach the same class with multiple sections.
  2. Since our Online Teaching and Learning Initiate runs for four months, all departments should have at least four Faculty Meetings, controlled by the Department Chairpersons during this semester, to collectively iron out the faculty difficulties and setbacks that are bound to occur during this our first UL Online Teaching and Learning initiate with Moodle.

DEPARTMENT CHAIRPERSONS PLEASE NOTE THIS CAUTIONARY WARNING FOR YOUR FACULTY MEMBERS:

THERE IS NO NEED FOR YOUR FACULTY MEMBERS TO CREATE THEIR OWN PERSONALIZED TEXTBOOK PAMPLETS FOR THE STUDENTS IN THEIR MOODLE CLASSES TO PRINT OUT OR PAY A SMALL FEE TO OWN!!!!!
